Crème Caramel today!
We thought we’d dress up in white in conjunction (it made sense at the time). We used the White Wings crème caramel mix, which is freely available in supermarkets in Malaysia! Since Sophia is slightly lactose intolerant, we thought we’d give it a vegan twist and use soy milk instead.
Lesson for today: Crème caramel was never meant to be made with soy milk. Well not really never, Sophia likes soy milk so she said that it was quite yummy…
We just followed the instructions at the back of the pack, so we won’t post the recipe today!
Yes, that is me smiling through the pain. It did turn out extremely pretty, though! I’m just used to the full fat milk version of caramel-ly goodness my Aunty Mimi cooks up every Christmas and Chinese New Year. We decided to play a little with the sizes of the crème caramel and only filled it up to about half and a quarter of the mould, if you have more than one jelly mould this is a really great idea (presentation-wise anyway, because it also means someone gets a smaller piece!).
On a random note, Sophia and I have been really hooked on this song from the Glee Project! Don’t underestimate her Running Man, its awesome.
